May 2010 Buzzword
Spring time at adaQuest has proved to be an exciting time with some great new awards and public service!
Seattle Business Magazine Award
We are excited to announce adaQuest as a Top 100 Best Companies to Work For by Seattle Business Magazine two years in a row! The announcement was made in June and the issue highlighting the award along with our fellow winners was in July. We are incredibly grateful to the wonderful support we received from our staff who took the time to complete the survey and who helped make adaQuest a top place to work in for the second consecutive year. This award is incredibly meaningful in that it involves adaQuest as a whole company and the efforts we all make to create an exceptional working environment that helps us draw the amazing talent we have in our team members. We hope to continue to cultivate and further establish adaQuest as a Best Places to Work for years to come and are honored to be included with such a prestigious list of Northwest companies. Thank you adaQuest employees!
Friends Of The Orphans
During the month of May adaQuest staff members attended the annual Friends of The Orphans Luncheon held at the Meydenbauer Center. This is the second year adaQuest has been involved in the luncheon with Friends of The Orphans, an organization that is helping end poverty throughout Latin America and the Caribbean by providing housing in a safe environment. They focus on abandoned, orphaned and disadvantaged children in impoverished areas that are in need of loving families and homes that will help them grow into valued members of their communities. adaQuest sponsored a table at this year’s luncheon and provided individual staff donations which were matched by adaQuest. It was a wonderful event that adaQuest is thrilled to be a part of and will continue to support in the coming months.

What can you tell us about your PM Manual?
The purpose of our PM Manual is to describe our methodology regarding how to successfully manage projects. The manual extensively illustrates the roles of the key stakeholders during the five different phases of a project: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Controlling, Closure. The applications can be attributed to all types of projects, from small, low risk and limited value projects, to high risk and high value projects. This methodology will also be used to define and implement adaQuest best practices and demonstrate the significance of Project Management.
Finally, our PM Manual is based on recognized industry standards and concurrent with the ANSI Standard Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide).
What inspired the creation of the PM Manual?
After eight years of successfully providing results driven Localization Project Management to our clients, we decided to broaden our horizons in new areas of business by expanding into Project Management. This seemed to be a natural transition as we wanted to be able provide a more complete management solution for our clients. The idea behind creating the manual came with the realization that the main reasons why projects fail were due to poor Project Management. This could be due to a number of factors including poorly trained and/or inexperienced project managers, failure to set and manage expectations, inefficient communication, and lack of progress tracking and/or reporting. With the creation of the PM Manual many of the solutions needed to prevent these types of failures will be readily available to clients. We are confident that with the manual, we will be able to better provide successful Project Management solutions to our clients and increase the recognition of Project Management one project at a time.
