November 2020 Newsletter – Week 2

November 6 – Microsoft announced that they are extending the support for adding personal accounts that already exists in Teams Mobile applications to the Teams desktop apps (Windows and Mac OS). Please act by November 19.

November 6 – By integrating Teams and the Forms app, Microsoft is creating a new way for meeting presenters to poll attendees. Adding a Forms poll in Teams Meetings uses customized meetings experiences. Please act by November 19.

November 7 – Endpoint data loss prevention (DLP) for Microsoft 365 identifies sensitive information on endpoints and protects it from risky or inappropriate sharing, transfer, or use within applications and services that only exist on the endpoint, or originate from an endpoint, without the need to deploy any additional DLP software. To use this capability, you will need to onboard the endpoint in your environment using your established device management onboarding process.

November 6 – Updated November 06, 2020: To ensure the best possible experience for users, Microsoft is delaying some deployments to reduce the amount of change flowing into the services. Please see the updated roll-out timeline below. Teams will soon support up to 20,000 meeting attendees as view-only participants for tenants with the Advanced Communications add-on.

Please see the updated roll-out timeline below. Microsoft will soon be alerting Teams meeting participants when there are five minutes remaining in a scheduled meeting. This is an informational notification and will not automatically end the meeting.
